Buffer Ring is an uncut “Piston Ring”, with notches on one side, the Ring is a single-acting seal often used as protector of a common rod sealing system against peak pressures where the notch prevents risk of pressure trap. If double-acting sealing is required it is necessary to install two Buffer Rings, back to back, to take the pressure from both sides.
